We find the best way to select a pet is to spend time with them. Sometimes what you expect from a photo on Facebook is not what you’ll find when you meet them. We want you to know the good and the challenging about our animals!
We do not provide applications in advance, because we want you to meet the pet first. Allow yourself fifteen minutes or so to complete the two page application at the center once you’ve met your match!
If the animal you are interested in is currently in foster care please call MHS for info on how to apply.
We will call the approved applicant on the following business day to schedule the next steps.
If you do not hear from us, feel free to call in to check. We will keep your application on file for up to a year.

Our Adoption fees reflect the care animals get at MHS.
All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped before going home. They have basic vaccinations and are heartworm tested. They are current on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.
All cats are spayed or neutered and microchipped before going home. They have basic vaccinations and have been FIV/FeLV tested. They are current on flea/tick preventatives.
Rest assured your new critter has been well taken care of here at Michiana Humane Society. Rabbits have been spayed or neutered before leaving our facility.
