Adopt A Pet

The Michiana Impact

Michiana Humane Society serves pets and the people who love them throughout Northwest Indiana and into Illinois and Michigan. Whether animals are lost, or must be surrendered, we provide nutritional meals, daily cleaning and exercise, and whatever veterinary and behavior care is required to prepare them for new families. Intakes have been on the rise and adoptions have slowed since the pandemic, but we continue to provide the same good care for every animal that comes into our care.

It didn’t take long and I immediately knew who the next little guy was going home with me. If you want to adopt bunnies, there are plenty of friendly ones there! They even have lots of male guinea pigs. So please adopt before you shop. If I

Very clean place place without a doubt you know these animals in that shelter get lots of love that they deserve .. the 2nd chance for them is very obvious. I have met lots of volunteers in there that really care for the dogs and cats .. Every day I see the staff taking dogs for walks and to play with them in park...

We adopted one of our dogs from here in June of 2022 and we have also been volunteering in their Fetch Some Fun program, which is an incredible program that allows people to take shelter dogs out for a few hours and help relieve their kennel stress. This is a clean, happy and friendly shelter where I know the people that work here really love the animals and want them to find their best “furever homes.” The animals are well taken care of and given a lot of love
